Physical design:

1. - Assistance designing disk configurations (with Oracle's Automatic Storage Management) while taking performance and backups into account
2. - User database design

Backup design:

1. - Backup and recovery methods
2. - Rotating backups and scheduling
3. - Connecting basic Oracle tools with backup software and external media

Operational design:

1. - Connecting systems with Oracle Enterprise Manager and Hitachi JP1 integrated operations management products
2. - Exadata database maintenance and monitoring

Exadata Implementation

Database system implementation:

1. - Database creation
2. - Validation of a variety of Oracle tool's behavior
3. - Extensive behavioral and failure testing

Backup system implementation:

1. - Build backup environments
2. - Implement backup software and generate backup jobs
3. - Verify that backups can be recovered (backup recovery verification)

Production environment (with monitoring) implementation:

1. - Production and monitoring environment setup using Oracle Enterprise Manager
2. - Oracle Enterprise Manager installation
3. - Exadata plug-in installation
4. - Configuration of basic Exadata-related items to monitor, followed by monitoring tests
